REACH (1907/2006/EU) Statement

REACH is a European regulation on chemicals and their safe use that entered into force in all EU member states on June 1st, 2007. By creating a comprehensive management of chemicals, REACH deals with the Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and restriction of Chemical substances and aims to ensure high safety standards for environmental and health risks.

The duty of registration and evaluation applies to all companies which manufacture or import chemicals in the European Union in quantities of one ton or more per year. It also applies to manufacturers of non-chemical commodities when the manufacturer’s products have a total release of chemicals – under normal or reasonably foreseeable conditions – of one ton or more per year. Particularly worrying substances will require special authorization.

ADL Embedded Solutions is a manufacturer of embedded computing products. Within the meaning of the REACH regulation, ADL Embedded Solutions products are non-chemical in nature and are not subject to registration, evaluation or authorization since, to the best of our knowledge, no chemical substances are released under normal and reasonably foreseeable conditions of use, or their total content does not exceed one ton per year.

Statement of conformity - ROHS 2002/95/EC and weee

The Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive 2002/95/EC (RoHS), was adopted in February 2003 by the European Union. The RoHS directive took effect on 1 July 2006, and is required to be enforced and become law in each European member state. This directive restricts (with exceptions) the use of six hazardous materials in the manufacture of various types of electronic and electrical equipment. It is closely linked with the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive (WEEE) 2002/96/EC which sets collection, recycling and recovery targets for electrical goods and is part of a legislative initiative to solve the problem of huge amounts of toxic electronic waste.
